Chris Donovan - Psychotherapist
MA MBACP
I am a highly qualified Psychotherapist who works with adults, adolescents and children from the age of 5. With in-depth experience of counselling children within a school setting, through the organisation Place2Be, I specialise in working with Anxiety and Behavioural Issues.
Other areas of interest include (but are not limited to:
Bereavement, Depression, Relationship Issues, Family Conflict and Self Esteem
How Do You Work?
"As a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, I work with you to explore your unconscious internal belief structures and try to help you make links between these and your current day feelings, as well as to identify any re-occurring patterns in your life.
I am there to listen, hold, contain and help facilitate a different, more positive way of understanding your experiences. By helping you work through and understand your internal world better, you will be better equipped and more able to face future difficulties and challenges, giving you the capacity to lead a fuller, more enriched life."
And finally Chris, what's your favourite quote about counselling?
"Hmmm, that's a tough one but it would probably have to be:
"A good therapist does not only show you the cracks in your story but shines a light right through them"
